The only way to get it to run is to build a vintage PC that runs Win98 and you must have the PowerVR accelerator like the MatroxM3D or the Apocalypse 3D, in other words just stick to the US PC version of Resident Evil xD The only real benefit you get from the PowerVR version is the higher resolution of 800圆00 and smoother shadows and smoke effects but aside from that its the same as the Direct3D content wise. Its a very old technology that never caught feet and was abandoned in favor of Direct3D but the games that do support it look better than Direct3D games. There are only a few PC games that even accept the PowerVR acceleration like Tomb Raider 1, Unreal 1 and I think Quake and Turok 1. its a freakin antique xD There are no other means to even start the PowerVR version of RE unleast you have installed an old video card like the GeForce 4MX running Win98SE and you absolutely have to run the PowerVR accelerator sideways (inserted into a PCI slot). Well I did a lot of research into PowerVR and trust me. I just wish Capcom would port over the PowerVR PC version of RE1 and translate the 2 Sourcenext PC ports and bring them all 3 to steam ! Also for Resident Evil 1 there is a 1997 released PowerVR version who looks and plays better than its downscaled PC counterpart which was censored in euope with the black and white intro except germany, the only big problem with that one is that it only runs on dedicated PowerVR cards like the Matrox M3D or the Apocalypse and you need an old system or Vintage PC to run Win98 on it.
Are you guys aware that there are remastered PC versions of both Resident Evil 2-3 !? The downside is they were only released in japan in 2006 under the names BioHazard 2 and BioHazard 3 Last Escape SourceNext or KittyMedia.
